Dr. Darrin G. Vits, OD

Dr. Vits is an Illinois licensed optometrist and has been in practice since 1995. Dr. Vits opened his independent practice with Discount Eyewear in January 2014 and transitioned to full time in October 2014. Dr. Vits provides comprehensive eye health care including prescribing eyeglasses, fitting contact lenses, and treating and monitoring eye diseases as well as acute eye problems. Dr. Vits and his family have lived in Dixon since 2004.

Graduated from the University of Missouri – St. Louis School of Optometry in 1995
Graduated from Illinois College, Jacksonville, IL with a B.S. and B.A. in 1991
During his last year of school, Dr. Vits did extensive training in ocular disease, contact lenses and pediatrics
Since graduating, Dr. Vits has practiced in several locations in Central and Northern Illinois where he has continued to have his skills in ocular disease, contact lenses, and pediatrics. Dr. Vits especially enjoys working with children and considers this a semi-specialty.
